138. Theme 147 ~Homemade~

The name of this balloon is “The Limelight.”  I was talking with the owner (the gentleman with the hat on) and he told me that he actually made the balloon.  It took him seven weeks and 175 hours to make using a sewing machine.  Ok, that’s a real labor of love IMHO!   Up, Up and Away!

  4. What a massive sewing project! He must’ve had a large area to lay out all his materials. As a sewer, I’d love to see what kind of thread, how he cuts out the pieces, the sewing process, etc. Guess he must trust his own technique!

  5. I’m sure when he’s floating over the landscape he won’t be thinking of all the hard work he’s put into this balloon.
